It depends on your definition of a day trader. If you are talking about being an active trader, you can just use an online brokerage account.

First of all you need $25,000. That is the bare minimum to open a day trading account–an SEC rule. Most on line brokers have software to help you day trade. That is how they generate most of their revenue. Good luck.
